Has anyone has issues with their digital camera draining batteries?

I have a Sony DSC-W7. It drains the batteries REALLY quick. After taking pictures for about 30 minutes, it shuts off. It will only turn back on after I move the batteries around, and even then the low battery indicator starts flashing. After about 45 minutes total picture taking time, the batteries are completely dead and have to be replaced.

Has anyone had this issue? Any idea what might be causing it?

I have the same problem all the time. The thing is that digital cameras need like really expensive batteries. The Lithium batteries which are like 10 bucks work for a while. I’ve had the same batteries for like a week. Hope this helps. :)

Turn off the LCD and use the viewfinder. That should save some power and don’t use the flash if you don’t need to. The flash is a major battery drainer. Evern Pro digital camera have separate compartments for batteries devoted just to the flash. Also using batteries that are specific to digial cameras, like kodak NIMH or Lithium batteries help.

Comparison of Brands are as follows

    Canon: good SLRS + brandname
Kodak: CHEAP CHEAP, good megapixels for your money
    Sony:Sucky
    Nikon: cheap SLRS
rest of brands suck including Olympus

You might not being using the electronic kind of batteries that are made for digital cameras! Also I like to use rechargeables so you don’t have to keep buying new batteries!
